Chill Pill(ow) Free Pattern

They call me big poppa.

I designed the original chill pill in October of 2020 to cope with the stress of the pandemic and being a new mom. Fast forward to now... I have 2 children (both still in diapers) and I need something more robust for my stress. 😅 Something I can maybe scream into, or clutch while crying after a long day HAHA.

here's what you will need for this project:

-2 balls of Bernat Blanket Yarn

-22 mm safety eyes

-black yarn (for the mouth)

-a bunch of fiber fill stuffing

-10 mm crochet hook

-stitch marker

-sewing needle

terms used:

-ch: chain

-st: stitch

-sc: single crochet

-inc: increase

Let's begin!

Right Half of the Pill

using white (this is the half with the face)

R1: ch 2, sc 6 in the 2nd ch from the hook (6)

R2: inc in each st (*6 times: 12)

R3: inc in each st (*12 times: 24)

R4: sc 3, inc (*6 times: 30)

R5: sc 4, inc (*6 times: 36)

R6: sc 5, inc (*6 times: 42)

R7: sc 6, inc (*6 times: 48)

R8: sc 7, inc (*6 times; 54)

R9: sc 8, inc (*6 times: 60)

R10-20: sc in each st (60)

Fasten off and weave in yarn tail. Place safety eyes between rows 17&18 and rows 10&11 (about 6-7 sts apart). Embroider mouth.

Left Half of the Pill

R1: ch 2, sc 6 in the 2nd ch from the hook (6)

R2: inc in each st (*6 times: 12)

R3: inc in each st (*12 times: 24)

R4: sc 3, inc (*6 times: 30)

R5: sc 4, inc (*6 times: 36)

R6: sc 5, inc (*6 times: 42)

R7: sc 6, inc (*6 times: 48)

R8: sc 7, inc (*6 times; 54)

R9: sc 8, inc (*6 times: 60)

R10-19: sc in each st (60)

Grab the right half of the pill and sc the two halves together. When you have about 6 sts remaining, begin stuffing.

*Make sure you pull apart the stuffing as you go so your pill isn't lumpy!

Finish sc halves together once your pill is stuffed. Weave in yarn tail.
